Suitable for chic soirées or industrial-strength shindigs.

Welcome to Kin.

Kin is the hot spot for bashes big and small. Situated in a former shipping warehouse at the edge of Rochester’s historic NOTA district, our event space is open and modern, with intriguing hints of its industrial past. We welcome parties of all sizes, for any occasion. To accommodate all styles, the space isn’t overly “designed.” We’ve intentionally left it a blank canvas, so to speak. Let the revels commence.

Make it yours.

At Kin, flexibility is the name of the game. Our space can easily accommodate 200 or so merrymakers (or about 130 for a sit-down with room to dance). We also welcome small and medium-size parties. (Even more room to shake it!) Our updated catering kitchen is ready for serving snacks or preparing full meals, and our licensed bar is stocked to mix everyone’s favorites—or perhaps a cocktail yet to be invented. Two brand-new and handicap-accessible restrooms are also available for your guests. Valet service can also be arranged for your convenience.

Whether you plan to host a large wedding party or a small brunch, Root is committed to delivering innovative food, excellent service and a zealous attention to detail. If you wish to provide your own catering services, you’re welcome to do so at no extra fee. Our extensive bar is also scalable to meet the needs of your occasion, from simple, classic refreshments to trendy cocktails crafted by our expert bar staff.

What’s old is new.

Kin is centrally located at 52 Sager Drive in a historic neighborhood on the east side of Rochester between University Avenue and East Avenue. The area offers a charming mix of historic mansions, inventive restaurants, repurposed factories, eclectic shops, and a new winery and brewery. Turn onto Sager Drive off Culver Road or East Boulevard; the entrance to Kin is about 200' down from either direction. We’ll save you a seat!
